Location: 2200 N Grassland Dr Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526

VCA Broad Street Animal Hospital is hiring a Registered Veterinary Technician (or NC RVT eligible) to join our team!

About Us

We are a 2-doctor practice in Fuquay-Varina, dedicated to high quality medicine with a focus on client care and education.

We strive to provide the best medicine in our newly remodeled, state of the art facility, including updated equipment and a new dental suite. If you are looking for a fun place to work, look no further!

About the Role

The RVT role will have a focus on Surgery and Dentistry, while assisting with appointments some days as well. Duties will include:

  • In-patient and Out-patient care
  • Client care and education
  • Patient Intake - Ensuring clients understand logistics of the procedure, complete consent/DNR paperwork, and treatment plan
  • Pre-op examination and pre-medication
  • Placing IV catheters
  • Anesthesia induction and endotracheal intubation
  • Setting up patient on monitoring equipment
  • Monitoring patient vitals
  • For dentistry patients, complete oral exams with doctors, take dental radiographs, clean and polish teeth
  • Post-op Recovery - Monitoring patients vitals after extubation and discharging the patient with their pet parents
  • Help maintain instruments and equipment
  • Assist with primary care appointments and treatments
  • Medical recordkeeping

Schedule for this role includes four days a week, three days at 7:30am - 5:30pm and one 8am - 6pm.

Starting hourly pay is $20 - 22/hour, depending on skills, experience, education and credentials.

Qualifications

  • North Carolina Veterinary Technician license (RVT) or eligible to obtain upon hire
  • Proficient in veterinary technical skills including surgery, dentistry, and anesthesia
  • Proficient in client care and education
  • Able to work well with a team and contribute to a positive and supportive team culture
